Bolton Wanderers Match [25 Apr @ 7:58pm]
Chorley 3 - 0 Bolton Wanderers The girls set the standard right from the first minute within 30 seconds of the kick off Nat crossed well and Vicky shot over the bar from close range. This is the most organised the defence have looked all season and communication wise we were very impressive. Before we actually scored we could have easily been 3 or 4 goals up creating some great chances with some very good crosses from Nat and Lucy. Then a great through ball by Sel released Vicky who slid in with the keeper and managed to just squeeze the ball past her to make it one nil. Straight after we scored we won the ball back very quickly and Sel was unlucky not to make it two. We pressed the ball really well at times not giving them too much time on the ball and Janet read the play very well, intercepted a pass, ran through and slotted a very good pass through to Sel who had a little bit of luck but it eventually the ball fell for her and we were 2-0 up. The second half started and we carried on from where we left off in the 1st half. We passed the ball well and the movement was very pleasing. Again we created alot of chances but failed to take them and Bolton were getting encouraged by this. We had to soak up some pressure at times but dealt with them throwing 4 forwards on. Eventually we got the third and it was a Inevitable. A throw from the right and a great bit of individual skill from Sel chipping it over the defender and then volleying home. Again after we scored we could have made it more but absolutely delighted with the performance. A great team performance probably Janets 2nd half performance gets her the MOM
Bury [15 Feb @ 7:55pm]
Chorley 7 - 0 Bury We got off to a great start scoring from a very good team goal with Lucy crossing in from the left and t tapping home. After that we become sloppy, lazy, undisciplined and very unorganised. However, at times we looked very good with Lucy and Nat putting some great balls into the penalty area and we got our reward when Bury failed to clear a cross by Nat and Sel set up Danni on the edge of the area who finished magnificently. We came in at half time 2-0 up but really the performance wasn't good enough. We re-gigged the formation and went 3-5-2 and this worked immediately. Vikki playing at the back for the first time adapted well and was playing some very good passes into the front two. We also picked the tempo up in the second half and this had great benefits. Bury simply couldn't handle us and it didn't take long for us to get our third goal when Lucy put a great ball in for Sel to bravely head home. The difference in the second half was clear and we played some good football at times and looked easy on the eye. Goal of the game went to Simmi who volleyed in from wide right on the edge of the area. Unfortunately a Bury player was injured 7 minutes from time and the match was cut short. I am confident enough to say we would have definately got 3 more goals. Who says we cant actually win the league?????
Fletcher Moss [25 Jan @ 9:08pm]
We got off to a great start against fletcher moss, we started brightly and looked alot sharper for the first 25minutes of the game. We the got our reward when Danni put a great ball through to Lucy who pounced on the pass strugging off a defender to nicely chip the on coming keeper. Chorley were keeping the ball well at this stage and looked dangerous on the attack looking like we were going to score everytime we went forward and should have gone 2-0 up when Nat skipped past a defender produced a sublime cross only for sel to unluckily head wide. Unfortunately Kay injured herself in a great tackle she made after 30minutes this was to be a massive blow for the ladies, as kay tried to carry on she pulled up which left a massive gap for fletcher moss to get in behind and not even the tracking back from cathy could prevent their centre forward nicely clotting home the equiliser. Simi replaced kay and some reshuffling was done which did not help the girl. Simmi was magnificent when she came on and hit the post with a good shot just before half time. The second half became and Chorely were caught cold half time instructions were ignored as fletcher moss' centreforward was alllowed 4 or 5 touches in the area before slotting home to make it 2-1. At times chorely played some OK football but nothing towards the levels that have been set. last 10 minutes we really pushed and tried and it was no coincidence that we began to great more chances as danni was pushed into midfield. Cathy had a shot from the edge of the area magnificently tipped over the bar by their goalkeeper and after that we just new it wouldnt be our day. Alot to work on Training Tuesday and hopefully we can pick up next week and show why we are where we are in the league
